Welcome Ashley Johnston to the Miami Speech Therapy Team!

We’re thrilled to announce the newest member of our Miami Speech Therapy family — Ashley Johnston, B.A., our dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA). Ashley brings both heart and skill to her role, supporting our mission to provide compassionate, high-quality, and family-centered speech therapy in the Miami area.

A Strong Educational Foundation

Ashley earned her Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and her Graduate Certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida International University (FIU). She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Florida State University (FSU), continuing to strengthen her expertise in speech, language, and communication development.

Her training allows her to blend behavioral science with communication therapy all with a neurodiversity affirming lens. 

Clinical Experience That Makes an Impact

Before joining Miami Speech Therapy, Ashley gained hands-on experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant and a Registered Behavior Technician.

This experience has given Ashley a unique perspective on supporting children with communication and social challenges — helping them feel celebrated in every session.

Service, Leadership, and Community

Ashley is also a member of the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA), where she participates in fundraising, leadership, and community outreach events that promote awareness of communication disorders.

She has also volunteered with Feeding South Florida and His House Children’s Home, helping raise over $30,000 for local families in need. Her commitment to service and advocacy aligns perfectly with Miami Speech Therapy’s values — empowering families and giving back to our community.

Bilingual and Family-Focused

As a bilingual clinician (English & Spanish), Ashley understands the importance of honoring both languages in a child’s home. She loves helping bilingual families navigate communication goals.

Over the past month with Miami Speech, she has shown that her warm personality, creativity, and dedication make her an incredible addition to our Miami Speech Therapy team!
