This summer, our team had the pleasure of collaborating with the team at The Synergy Approach (https://www.synergyapproach.com/home), an OT practice in Coral Gables, FL, to form the first annual NeuroBloom Summer Camp program. NeuroBloom is an intensive therapy camp for children, where campers were able to move, talk, create, and explore foods. Building on all of these natural skills, the camp focused on: primitive reflex integration, language enrichment, and food exploration using the Dr. Yum curriculum.

The Therapeutic Part

A child's body and communication develop together. Sitting upright, staying regulated, and coordinating both sides of the body all support the attention a child needs to listen, follow directions, and join a conversation.

At NeuroBloom, the OT team from The Synergy Approach and our Miami Speech Therapy speech team planned activities together. We created obstacle courses that gave our campers the opportunities to practice sequencing words while moving their bodies, craft projects that encouraged fine motor development and social communication, and food exploration groups where they got their hands dirty while tasting new fruits and vegetables.

The Results

The parents of our campers came back with such great feedback. Our inaugural Summer 2026 camp was such a success that we are DEFINITELY going to be continuing the camp going forward. Stay tuned for more information, we may even have some mini-camps in the works! ;)

Here’s what our parents had to say about camp:
